MILBANK – The Sioux Valley boys’ golf team placed third in the POET Invitational on Thursday at Pine Hills.
Sisseton won with a team score of 343 and Aberdeen Roncalli (359) was second.
The Cossacks shot 371.
Watertown JV (381), Redfield/Doland (403) and Groton (452) rounded out the team standings.
The Cavaliers’ Lucas Schaefbauer was medalist with an even-par 72.
The Arrows’ Gavin Hibbert and the Redmen’s Nate Nielsen both shot 81 to place second and third, respectively.
Sisseton’s Blake Nielsen (87), Andrew Kranhold (87) and Braimen Steen (88) placed fourth through sixth, respectively.
Nate Buisker paced Sioux Valley with a 90, putting him in 10th.
Westin Trenhaile and Parker Loban both shot 93 and Trent Hiltunen carded a 95 to round out the team tally.
Logan Steffensen added a 99.
The Cossacks return to action at the Dell Rapids Invitational on Monday at 9 a.m. at Rocky Run.
