Cossacks sweep home invite

VOLGA – The host Cossacks swept the track and field team titles at the Sioux Valley Invite on Tuesday.

Girls

Sioux Valley totaled 231 team points, with Flandreau (144) taking second in the five-team field.

The Cossacks’ Kamryn Schwartz won three individual events.

She placed first in the 100-meter dash in 13.4 seconds.

Schwartz won the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 8 inches and the triple jump at 34-4 1/2.

Adison Renkly swept the hurdles, taking the 100-meter event in 17.7 seconds and the 300 in 51.5.

Kayla Klocker took the 400 dash in 1:07.4.

Klocker, Ashton Tucker, Schwartz and Reagan Johnson placed first in the 4x100 in 54.8. Sienna Weiss, Renkley, Kendra Hoffman and Johnson won the 4x400 in 4:36.8.

Flandreau’s Claire Sheppard, Cassidy Keith, Ella Hoffman and Isabella Pavlis were tops in the 4x200 in 1:57.1.

Faith Wiese, Maria Parsley, Lily Klein and Libby Hursey won the 4x800 with a 10:36.1 clocking.

Adding wins were Wiese in the 800 (2:31.5), Pavlis in the 200 (27.5), Hursey in the 3,200 (12:56.7) and Josie Hamilton in the 1,600 (6:11.4).

Boys

Sioux Valley ended up with 193 team points and Flandreau (137.5) was second.

The Cossacks’ Kelton Vincent placed first in the 400 in 54.9 seconds and the 800 with a 2:14.9 clocking.

Aiden Moe took the 110 hurdles at 21.2 and Lane Liebsch won the 300-meter event in 48.4.

Kashas VanderWal’s heave of 42-3 was tops in the shot put.

Justin Blackledge, Liebsch, Boden Schiller and Jaxton Schiller won the 4x200 relay in 1:44.4.

Connor Gross, Vincent, Blackledge and Wyatt Hockett won the 4x400 relay in 3:49.8

The Flier quartet of Johnny Deloera, Bradon Weber, Kevin Fernandez and Alex Anderson crossed first in the 4x100 in 48.7.

Austin Kulm, Liam Streitz, Tanner Reed and Sam Gassman won the 4x800 in 9:07.6.

Lake Preston’s Rhett McMasters swept the distance events – 1,600 (4:57.1) and 3,200 (10:56).

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland’s Isaac Trygstad placed first in the discus with a mark of 127-9 1/2.

Will Matson cleared 5-6 for the high jump title.

Jacob Jaton, Wyatt Bickett, Trygstad and Matson placed first in the medley in 4:01.6.
