Cubs topple Aurora Aces 12-2

BROOKINGS – The Cubs beat the Aurora Aces 12-2 in seven innings in an amateur baseball game Friday night at Bob Shelden Field.

Brookings took control with six runs in the third inning.

Seth Fraser went 3-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs.

Jacolby Anderson hit a solo home run and finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Ty Schneider and Jared Tschetter added two hits and an RBI apiece.

Jeff Fish doubled and scored three times.

Carter Gordon picked up the win after throwing two hitless innings in relief, walking two and striking out one.

Starter Curt Anderson allowed one run – unearned – on three hits with eight strikeouts in three innings.

Aurora’s Justin Sweet led off the game with a double and scored on Zach Treiber’s single.

Colton Wendland gave up seven runs – one earned – on eight hits with one strikeout in three innings.
