Dale L. Lynn of Elkton, SD passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020 at United Living Community, Brookings, SD. 

Dale was born at Verdi, MN on January 29, 1930 to William and Mabel (Passig) Lynn. He attended school in Verdi. Dale married Maxine Bird on October 15, 1949 in Elkton and they were united in marriage for 69 years. They lived in Sioux Falls, SD and moved to St. Peter, MN in January of 1950 before returning to Elkton in 1955. 

Together, they farmed Maxine’s family farm with her father and operated the Knotty Pine Supper Club from 1977 to 1991. They moved into Elkton in 1980. Dale was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. 

While on the farm, Dale liked running the combine and driving the silage truck. He enjoyed playing golf, dancing, bowling, shaking dice, and playing cards. They also liked to travel; and spent their winters in Arizona for 25 years of their lives.

Dale is survived by his six children: Gary (Norma) Lynn, Elkton, Julie (Dennis) Wiese, Flandreau, Brian and Brad Lynn, both of Elkton, Bill (Carla) Lynn, Sioux Falls, Bob (Georgia) Lynn, Brookings; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings: Royal (Donna) Lynn, Lake Benton; Wayne “Bud” Lynn, St. Peter; and Carol (Dale) Broughten, Mankato; sister-in-law, Donna Lynn, Elkton; and brother-in-law, Les Rydell, California. He was preceded in death by his wife; and his siblings, Lucille Odam, Wilda Rydell, Ralph Lynn, and Lois David.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Elkton with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020 at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Elkton. Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
