Daniel Lee Odegaard, 57, of Flandreau, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at his home in Flandreau.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau. Burial is in Union Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Daniel was born Dec. 4, 1959, in Fargo, N.D., to Gerald and Harriet (Ostern) Odegaard. He received his education at a Richland County country school and Wyndmere High School. Daniel worked as a roofer in Fargo and in Sioux Falls.
He moved to Flandreau in 1996. Daniel married Jenny Orbeta on May 28, 2003, in Flandreau.
He became disabled in 2010 due to West Nile disease. Daniel was a member of the Rescue Church, where he did custodial work. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, and his cat, Duran.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Jenny; daughter, Chelsea, from a previous marriage and his mother, Harriet.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, brother James and grandparents, John and Christine Odegaard and John and Olda Ostern.
