Daryl “Dick” Williams, 82, of Lake Preston died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Silver Plains Assisted Living in Lake Preston.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church with Vicar Brad Sanderson officiating. Burial is in the Lake Preston Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Lake Preston.

Daryl “Dick” Williams was born on April 17, 1935, to Dewey and LaVerne (Wickhorst) Williams.  

 Dick married Marlene Holland on Oct. 31, 1953.  They lived in Kansas for a few years before returning to Lake Preston where he farmed and sold livestock equipment until his retirement in 1989.  His wife died in 1998.  He married Joyce Hesby and moved to the Black Hills in 2002.  They returned to Lake Preston a few years later. Dick moved to the Silver Plains Assisted Living in 2016 and was there until the time of his death.

 Dick is survived by his wife, Joyce of Lake Preston, children Randy (Deonne) of Piedmont, Renee Harris of Aberdeen and Russ (Kris) of Winner; five grandchildren;  six great-grandchildren; a sister Lois (Bud) Morrow and many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, brothers, Don and Lloyd.

The family expressed gratitude to Tonya and staff at Silver Plains Assisted Living and all the good friends who helped care for him during his illness.
