ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Mike Daum was named the Summit League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his efforts against Alabama State and Kansas, announced Monday by the league office. Daum posted double-doubles in both games last week, averaging 25.5 points and 12 rebounds per contest. He shot 50 percent from the field (16 of 32) and hit eight 3-pointers while going 11-for-13 at the charity stripe.
Daum posted his 13th career 30-point game against Alabama State to go along with 13 rebounds, while adding 21 points and 11 rebounds against Kansas. He has reached double figures 66 times in his career and now has 14 career double-doubles.
The Kimball, Neb., native was named the Summit League Preseason Player of the Year for the 2017-18 campaign and has now picked up the league’s weekly award five times.
