KANSAS CITY – South Dakota State's Mike Daum was selected to the National Association of Baseball Coaches (NABC) All-District 12 First Team, announced Wednesday by the organization.

"This is a testament to the hard work that Mike has put in to improve his game and get better every day," head coach T.J. Otzelberger said. "Mike would also be the first one to say that this is a team accomplishment and a big honor for our Jackrabbit men's basketball program, as it would not have been possible without his teammates.

The Summit League Player of the Year, Daum adds another accolade after completing a season that ranks among the best in Jackrabbit history. He set the school's single-season points record with 878 for the year while climbing to No. 12 on the Jackrabbit all-time scoring list. Additionally, the Kimball, Neb., reset the school's season field goals made (274) and sophomore rebounding (285) records while matching the top mark for free throws in a season (251).

The 6-9 big man hit 79 3-pointers on the year while notching 32 double figure scoring games. He scored 20 or more on 25 occasions, dropped 30 or more in 13 games and had two 40-plus scoring performances, including a 51-point effort at Fort Wayne Feb. 18.

Daum was also a USBWA All-District selection earlier this year, and will be on the All-American ballot for both organizations.
