David Alan Garvin, age 65, of Brookings, South Dakota passed away on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, after a fifteen year battle with colon cancer.

David Alan Garvin, age 65, of Brookings, South Dakota passed away on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, after a fifteen year battle with colon cancer. There will be no services at this point. Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
David was born on Nov. 7, 1955, at Watertown, South Dakota to Leo A and Bernice F (Ebbers) Garvin. David lived on a farm in Castlewood, South Dakota until 1957, then the family moved to the Mesa, and Tempe, Arizona area where he attended school. David and the family moved back to Estelline, South Dakota where he graduated in 1973.
David worked at Jim’s Body Shop in Estelline for 4 years, then he worked road construction for 30 years, that is when he met the love of his life, Rosemary T. Heilman in 2004.
David’s hobbies were gardening, playing with the family dog, Axel, Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball, and of course the Pittsburgh Steelers.
David is survived by his brother Paul A. Garvin, of Brookings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Marchita (Stark) Garvin and Leah L. Garvin, both of Mesa, Arizona.
