David passed away from Mesothelioma in the VA Care Center, Big Spring, Texas. He had moved to San Angelo from Del Rio, Texas, to be closer to his doctors.

David was raised on a farm near Elkton. He served three years in the U.S. Army, including a posting in Berlin during the 1961 crisis when the Berlin Wall was built.

After his discharge, he completed a program at a community college in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and became a master electrician.

David was able to combine his vocation and his love of traveling by working in geographical areas that he wanted to explore. His jobs ranged from working in an almond processing plant in California, on the construction of waste disposal facilities for the Flying J Truck stops, and putting in freezers for Price Clubs to working for coal, petroleum, and uranium companies and in nuclear power plants. He also owned electrical maintenance companies in Denver at two different times.

Between jobs he traveled, often on a motorcycle. David worked and/or traveled in 49 states and several Canadian provinces. The only state he had not been in was North Dakota.

David is survived by three daughters: Laurie (Perry) Henderson, Del Rio, Texas; Carla Bolstad, and Cindy (Greg) Norlen of Denver; two sons: David Lee (Grand Rapids, Michigan) and Jeff Krogman (Cape Coral, Florida); nine grandchildren: Robert, Ricky, and Randy (Misty) Bolstad; Liese Mohni, Jeffrey Krogman, Jessica Krogmann, Samatha Krogmann; and Guy and Spencer Simpson. His survivors also include several great- grandsons and great-granddaughters.

He is also survived by four sisters: Marian Krogmann, Doris Evink, Marie Krogmann, and Deloris Krogmann; a sister in law, Bonnie Krogmann; and a close friend, Jeannette Krogmann and her granddaughter, Natalie Montecino. David also leaves numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Elsie (Meier) Krogmann and siblings: Lillie Evink, Louie Krogmann, Elsie Heller, and John Krogmann.

A memorial service will be held at the United Parish Church in Elkton, Sept. 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Daren Junker will officiate. Lunch will be served after the service. His cremains were interred in the Flandreau cemetery. Memorials can be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
