David Ramlo, 84, of Hendricks, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at the Hendricks Nursing Home.

 Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the East Hendricks Cemetery. Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel of Hendricks, Minnesota, is entrusted with the arrangements. 

David Peter Ramlo was born on Saturday, Oct. 28, 1933, in Hendricks, Minnesota, to parents Peter and Inga (Singsaas) Ramlo.  He was one of 11 children born to the Ramlo family.  He started working at age 11, shoveling coal, pitching hay, and later as a carpenter with his family.  

He graduated from Hendricks High School in 1951. David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force enlisting on Nov. 30, 1951 and was stationed in Korea until 1952.  David was honorably discharged Nov. 29, 1955, and returned home to work with his family.

On Oct. 8, 1959, David was united in marriage to Audrey Colleen Karstens at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Hendricks.  Together they were blessed with five children.  David worked construction with his family, dug graves and also was a brick layer.  

For 23 years David was a rural mail carrier until he retired in 1991.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking when time allowed.  Hunting with Black Lab dogs was something he enjoyed.  

Watching and listening to sports was a favorite past time.  

He and Audrey enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s events throughout the years.  Spending time with family and friends was most important, especially time spent with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and a current member of Christ Lutheran.  He was also a member of the Rueben-Hansen American Legion, Post 195 of Hendricks and a member of the Rural Mail Carriers Association.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Audrey Ramlo of Hendricks, Minnesoa; his children: Cynthia (Jerry) Warzecha of St. Peter, Minnesota, Kirk (Ricki) Ramlo of Jamestown, North  Dakota, Jon (Lon Clemensen) Ramlo of Sioux Falls, Krista Ramlo of Midway, Georgia, and Byron (Carla) Ramlo of White; 13 grandchildren” Rene’, Jared, Trevor and Karre’ Warzecha, Brandon, Jordan, Amber and Kathryn Ramlo, Garret Strickland, Mason, Kylie, Mattilyn and Kyrsten Ramlo; and one great-grandchild, Teagan Ramlo; one sister, Ellen Peirce of Sparks, Nevada and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his siblings and one grandson, Scott Warzecha.
