MITCHELL – Winner/Colome and Garretson picked up second-round wins at the Class B State Amateur Baseball Tournament on Sunday night at Cadwell Park.

The BlueJays piled up 16 hits in the win.
Dustin Steckler, who had an RBI, Mike Stephenson, who doubled and drove in a run, and Austin Vanhove each went 3-for-5. Nick Bruning, who drove in a run, and Nick Bonte added two hits apiece. Brett Fischer tallied three RBIs.
Bonte pitched 6 2/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up two runs – none earned – on four hits and five walks with six strikeouts
Lake Norden’s Tony Campbell and Chad Selchert tallied two singles apiece.
Matt Stevenson took the loss, giving up three runs – two earned – on nine hits with three strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

The Pheasants racked up 21 runs on 22 hits in the high-scoring affair.
Austin Calhoon went 4-for-5 with a double and six RBIs.
Derek Graesser finished 4-for-6 with a double, four RBIs and four runs scored.
Austin Richey was 4-for-6 with a triple and four RBIs.
Reed Harter ended up 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Dillon Lambley singled twice and drove in a pair of runs. Jared Donahue had two hits and an RBI.
Donahue earned the win on the mound in relief of Terrell Bauld, giving up two hits with four strikeouts and a walk. Bauld allowed six runs on six hits and three walks with a strikeout in two-plus innings.
Winner/Colome 9-6 after three innings. The Pheasants scored five runs in both the fourth and seventh frames while adding two in the sixth.
The Grey Sox’s Steve Fejfar homered, singled and drove in five runs.
Tanner Anderson was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Billy Mount went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jay Thaler added two hits and Colin Bertram tripled.
Vermillion starter Alex Mogensen took the loss. He gave up 11 runs – eight earned – on 12 hits with a strikeout and a walk in 3 1/3 innings.

Brock Selgestad and Brady Banse combined on a seven-hit shutout, and the Bronco offense scored all its runs with two outs in the win over the Broncs.
Selgestad gave up five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over six innings to earn the win.
Banse picked up the save after allowing two hits with a strikeout and a walk.
Matt Burpee had an RBI double in the first frame.
Greg Biagi scored on a two-out error after walking to leadoff the second. He added an RBI double with two away in the third to make it 3-0.
Burpee finished 2-for-3 with a walk and Nick Bird tripled.
Lesterville’s Zach Johnson was 2-for-4. Shaye Bloch doubled.

J.D. Farley pitched a completed game and Brad Hand had a solid game at the plate in the tourney’s first run-rule shortened game.
Farley gave up one run on eight hits with six strikeouts and a pair of walks.

Adam Kaus totaled two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored. Cooper Carter tallied a two-run double and Andrew McCloud added a two-bagger.
Castlewood’s Brody Grantham was 2-for-3.

Deon Entringer, a pickup player from the Colman A’s, gave up two runs – one earned – on five hits with six strikeouts and a walk to lead the Mudcats past the Raptors.

Tyler Maxwell threw a five-hit shutout – striking out five batters – on just 92 pitches and Jake Roskam drove in all three of the Aces’ runs during their win over the Killer Tomatoes.

Leadoff hitter Dillon Schenkel went 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice. Devin Skiles and Randall Waterbury both contributed a pair of hits.

Former South Dakota State standout Trever Vermeulen threw a complete game, striking out 10 batters. He allowed one run on four hits.
Chris Marek hit a solo home run and doubled.
Pierce Smith went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
Armando Rodriguez doubled, singled and drove in two runs. John Greicar added two hits and an RBI.
Flandreau’s Bret Severtson had an RBI single.
Jake Patterson, Keith Cutler and Jason Miller added a hit apiece.
Severtson gave up six runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts in the loss.

Aaron LaBrie tossed a four-hitter and also belted a three-run homer that gave the Woodies a 9-0 lead in the seventh inning of their defeat of the Mudcats.
LaBrie gave up three runs – two earned – all of which came in the eighth inning. He struck out 15 of the 35 batters he faced and issued a pair of walks.
LaBrie was 2-for-4 with five RBIs at the plate.
Brody Kunzmann went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs. Ryan Menssen added two hits and an RBI. Dalton Allen and Drew Andela added a pair of hits apiece. J.T. Miller tripled.
