BROOKINGS – Denver swept South Dakota State 25-15, 25-20, 25-10 in a Summit League volleyball match Sunday afternoon at Frost Arena.
Kayla Principato had 10 kills and a block for the Pioneers (11-4, 2-1). Becca Latham added nine kills and a block assist. Emma Willis contributed five kills and 2 1/2 blocks, while Lydia Bartalo totaled five kills, two service aces and a block assist. Tina Boe chipped in with seven kills.
Piyusha Boteju (19) and Ellie Anderson (10) combined for 29 set assists. Cassidy Rooke notched 13 digs and Bartalo 12.
For the Jackrabbits (2-15, 0-4), Ashlyn Smith finished with nine kills and Makenzie Hennen had eight to go with an ace. Sierra Peterson had six kills and a block.
Mattison Munger (12) and Maddie Fay (seven) combined for 19 set assists. Ellie Benson came up with 13 digs and Munger tallied nine.
SDSU takes on Western Illinois on Friday at 7 p.m. in Macomb, Ill.
