Derek L. Biggar,  36, of Carlos, died Tuesday, Nov, 28, 2017, at the St. Cloud Hospital following injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

 Funeral service is 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria with Pastor John Taplin and Pastor Jeremy Schneider officiating.  Music is provided by pianist, Missy Hansen and vocalists, Shannon Berns and Bobbie Batesole.  Burial will take place at Carlos Prairie Cemetery.

 Visitation is 4-8 p.m., with a 6 p.m., prayer service, Monday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

 Derek Lee was born April 4, 1981, to Kevin and Cindy (Massmann) Biggar in Alexandria.  He attended Alexandria Public Schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1999.  

Following his education, he worked at Douglas County Hospital, Douglas Machine and other jobs.  

He was united in marriage to Brianne Munson on July 31, 2004, at Alexandria Covenant Church.  Following their marriage, Derek worked as a painter for Bob Ingebretson, and returned to work in electrical assembly at Douglas Machine.  In 2011, Derek graduated with honors from Alexandria Technical College where he earned his degree in the Mechatronics Program.  

Derek worked for Brenton Engineering in Carlos for several years and has worked at Alexandria Industries the past few years.  Derek attended New Life Christian Church and enjoyed helping with audio technology.  

He enjoyed researching all types of things and spending time at the shooting range. 

Derek had many hobbies but will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help. He was a family to his friends. 

Proceeding his death Derek keeps on giving. His heart and liver will bring better lives for two individuals.

 He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and twin sisters at childbirth, Roxana and Roseana.

Derek is survived by his wife of 13 years, Brianne; daughter, Alexis “Lexi” at home; son, Logan at home; mother, Cindy Lang of St. Cloud; father, Kevin (Pat) Biggar of Alexandria; sister, Megan (fiancé, Jeff Daniel) Biggar of St. Cloud; brother, Andy (fiancée, Lacey Bickford) Biggar of Clearwater; nieces, JaMia and Jordyn Daniel; nephews, Jeremiah Biggar and JaVonte Daniel; father and mother-in-law,  Mike (Linda) Munson of Alexandria; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

 Pallbearers are Tyler Anderson, Adam Biggar, Andy Biggar, Adam Boyer, Darcell Danzeisen, Ryan Maher, Matt Schmidt, and Matt Wille.  Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Abarca, Rachel Abarca, Lacey Bickford, Megan Biggar, Jeff Daniel, Paige Elhefnawy, Joy Gabr, Paige Massmann, Cullen Munson, Jared Munson, Carrie Schmidt, and Erica Wille.
