Devine, Kreutner, Puetz, Hojer earn All-State honors

Brookings seniors Justin Devine and Tyler Kreutner made the South Dakota High School Baseball Class A All-State second team.

They were joined on the All-Region team by fellow senior Jacob Schoon.

Devine was also a Class A Academic All-State honoree.

The Bobcats finished the season with a 12-9 record, falling by a run in the game to go to state.

Devine batted .333 with three doubles, 13 RBIs and 28 runs scored. On the mound, he had a 4.2 ERA while posting a 1-1 record with 13 strikeouts in 10 innings of action.

Kreutner hit .382 with five doubles and 18 RBIs. He was 3-1 with a 1.826 ERA, striking out 19 batters in 23 innings.

Schoon batted .314 and collected 15 RBIs. On the mound, he went 0-1 with a 5.526 ERA, recording 19 strikeouts in as many innings.

Sioux Valley’s Parker Puetz and Oldham-Ramona/Rutland/Arlington/Lake Preston’s Taylor Hojer made the Class B All-State second team.

Puetz, Hojer, Elkton’s Dylan Kuehl, ORRALP’s Jacob Steffensen and Sioux Valley’s Damien Danziesen were on the Class A All-Region 2 team.

Being honored on the Class B Academic All-State team were Steffensen, Kuehl, Hojer and ORRALP’s Jack Olson.
