Diving highlights Day 1 for SDSU

SIOUX FALLS – The South Dakota State swimming and diving team finished Day 1 of its Quad-Dual Friday.

The women are competing against South Dakota, Northern Iowa and St. Cloud State. The men are taking on USD and SCSU.

The event concludes today.

Women

Rori Conners swam a season-best 10 minutes, 56.81 seconds in the 1,000-yard freestyle, placing second.

Richelle Bruyckere set a personal season-best in the 200 free in 1:59.96.

Kristen Davis placed third in the 100 butterfly with a 59.5 clocking. 

Men

Mitchell Raihle earned a season-high score of 294.65 – the eighth-best in school history – to win the 1-meter dive.

Joseph Weber placed first in the 3-meter with a season-high 295.05, which is 10th in SDSU history.

Trever Brenner won the 100 free in a season-best 47.28 and the 200 free in 1:43.78.

Cody Watkins swam a 51.85 to win the 100 fly.

Watkins, Joe Angerhofer, Mac Johnson and Alex Kraft placed second in the 200-yard medley relay with a season-best time of 1:26.91.
