Dolores Steinway, 98, of Brookings, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview.
Dolores will be buried at the Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, Missouri. No local services are planned.
She was born in rural Howell County, Missouri on April 24, 1919, to James Edward and Jane Lamb. Dolores married Bynum Redford on Aug. 9, 1939. They had one daughter.
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Mr. Redford joined the Army Air Corps which took the family to Air Force bases all over the United States and to Korea, Japan, Morocco, and Europe.
Dolores married Warren Steinway on Feb. 13, 1965. Upon retirement, they moved to Rockport, Texas, where they lived for 13 years.
Warren and Dolores traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Germany.
Upon Mr. Steinway’s death, Dolores moved to Higginsville, Missouri, where she lived until 2012, when she moved to Brookings to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
Survivors include her daughter Luanne, and son-in-law Darrell Napton of Brookings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Steinway.
Eidsness Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
