Dolphins drop Redhawks in four sets

HENDRICKS, Minn. – Deubrook Area topped Estelline/Hendricks 27-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-18 in a Dakota Valley Conference volleyball match Thursday night.

Shaylee DeBeer totaled 16 kills, two service aces, a block, 15 set assists and 15 digs for the Dolphins (16-9, 7-1).

Ashley Vandermeer contributed 15 kills and a pair of blocks.

Sarah Urevig had 18 set assists and three aces. Courtni Frank notched 13 digs and Lily Ruhd 11, while Baylee Holmlund and Andrea Vandermeer both added a block.

For the Redhawks (15-11, 3-4), Sophie Johnson had 16 kills. Kaylee Johnson added eight kills, three aces and 10 digs. Abigail Satterlee recorded five kills, 6 1/2 blocks (four solo) and 19 digs.

Brinn Begalka dished out 30 set assists and also had five aces and 3 1/2 blocks (two solo). Tasha Vohlken tallied four aces and Kylie Beare came up with 15 digs.

The Dakota Valley Conference Volleyball Tournament is today in Castlewood.

 Waverly-South Shore 3, Arlington 1

WAVERLY – The Coyotes (19-3) defeated the Cardinals (19-6) by the set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20 on Thursday.

Ali Kranz totaled 24 kills and 19 digs. Payton Comes had 13 kills, while Emily Kranz recorded 3 1/2 blocks (three solo).

Erin Comes notched 46 set assists and 21 digs. Ashley Lindberg had 19 digs and Katy Huffman netted a pair of aces.

Arlington’s Jayna Haufschild finished with 20 kills and a block. Hadley Carlson posted 19 kills and 19 digs. Grace Parry tallied three aces.

Marissa Baker guided the offense with 43 set assists and Jeryn Christensen paced the defense with 33 digs.

Arlington heads to Elkton-Lake Benton on Tuesday.
