Dolphins win

TORONTO – Deubrook Area edged Deuel 46-44 in a nonconference girls’ basketball game Tuesday night.

The Cardinals were up 11-10 after a quarter; the Dolphins moved ahead 22-21 at halftime; and the score was tied at 34-all heading to the fourth, where the home team held a 12-10 scoring edge.

Cortney Bauman scored six of her team-high 14 points in the final period. She also totaled six steals and five rebounds.

Ashley Vandermeer contributed seven points, seven boards and four steals. Cassie Quail had six points and three steals. Shelby Andrews tallied five points eight rebounds.

Shaylee DeBeer, Sarah Urevig and Mattie Neopdal each chipped in with four markers. DeBeer added seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.

The Cardinals’ Jayden TeGantvoort (15) and Britney Lovre (14) combined for 29 points.

Deubrook Area (3-0) plays host to Lake Preston on Thursday in White. Deuel (0-2) heads to Hamlin that night.

 Hamlin 49, Flandreau 30

FLANDREAU – Lexi Wadsworth (16) and Brynn Alfson (14) combined for 30 points as the Chargers defeated the Fliers in a Lake Central Conference game.

Hamlin pulled away from a 12-10 lead after a quarter, moving ahead 26-14 at halftime and 44-23 through three.

Tishara Hardy paced Flandreau with 13 points and three steals. Kathy Parsley contributed six points, six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. Hannah Parsley added four points, three steals and a block.

Flandreau (1-1, 0-1) is host to Beresford and Hamlin (2-0, 1-0) plays host to Deuel on Thursday.

 Florence/Henry 52, Arlington 18

ARLINGTON – The Flyers held the host Cardinals to single-digit scoring in each quarter on the way to 52-18 nonconference win on Tuesday.

Florence/Henry was up 17-7 after the first eight minutes; pushed the margin to 35-9 at half; and led 50-12 through three to improve to 2-0.

Madysn Gilbertson and Hadley Carlson scored four points each for Arlington, which dropped to 0-2.

Morgan Roe led FH with 19 points while Evie Kahnke chipped in with 13 and Chantel Nelson added 12.

On Thursday, the Cardinals travel to De Smet to face the Lady Bulldogs.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

 Flandreau 64, Hamlin 61

FLANDREAU – Conner Bawdon scored a game-high 19 points and Devan Weelbord added 17 as Hamlin edged the host Fliers 64-61 in a Lake Central Conference boys’ basketball matchup Tuesday night.

John Roed had 13 points and Mitchell Noem 11.

Flandreau’s Dylan LeBrun posted a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds to go with six assists and three steals. Connor LeBrun had 18 points and Andrew Julson 10. Nathan Kneebone tallied nine points and five boards.

Flandreau (1-1, 0-1) is host to Beresford and Hamlin (2-0, 1-0) plays host to Deuel on Thursday.
