Donna Steen Wallum, 96, of Brookings, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the United Living Community.  
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 3, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, beginning at 2 p.m.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Donna Steen Wallum was born and raised on a farm south of Brookings, SD, near South Medary Avenue and South Eighth Street.  She was the third child born to Percy Oscar and Jenny (Willey) Kennard on June 17, 1925.  Donna attended elementary, junior and senior high school in Brookings, graduating from Brookings High School in 1943.  On June 15, 1947, Donna was united in marriage to Leon H. Steen and the couple had three sons, Gary, Craig and David.
After Leon passed away in 1973, Donna married Deone Wallum in 1978.
From 1959 until 1978, Donna began working at Steen Bookkeeping soon after her husband opened his own business.  She previously worked at Nielson Florist Shop.
Donna was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brookings.  She loved to play golf and tennis, and also played bridge several years ago as well as other games with her grand and great-grandchildren.  She loved cutting hair and giving perms to family and friends.  She also loved to arrange flowers and dance to big band music.
Donna is survived by her son Gary (wife Mary); grandson Mike (wife Sarah); granddaughter Michelle (husband Jayson); grandson Matt (wife Heidi); son Craig (wife Pam); grandson Travis; grandson Tyler (wife Mandy); granddaughter Tess (husband Paul); son David (deceased) (wife Julie); granddaughter Kellee (husband Brett); grandson Bobby; grandson Danny; 15 great-grandchildren (one deceased); one sister, Patty Retzlaff; three sisters-in-law Betty Steen Wagner, Mary Alice Steen, and Crystal Steen; Robyn Wallum, Kim Wallum, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Leon Steen (1973), her second husband Deone Wallum (1993); her youngest son David Steen (2018); siblings Maxine Johnson (husband Joye), Roland Kennard (wife Nathelle); Larry Kennard (wife Jan); and brother-in-law Pete Retzlaff; and Kevin and Jan Wallum Muilenburg.
