Doreen Marie Drew was born on July 20, 1943, to Clark and Gladys Drew. She attended Madison Public Grade and High School. In the 1980s Doreen went back to school at LATC for human services education.
Doreen was married to Paul Mullaney, the love of her life, on Sept. 29, 1962. They lived in various towns throughout Minnesota and South Dakota and she had various jobs. She was a chef at many restaurants and worked at Castlewood Wood Works, where she met some of her best friends. She also worked as a home health worker; she learned braille and assisted a special student McKenzie Heemeyer. Helping her was one of her most rewarding jobs, as was being a teacher’s aide for both Castlewood and Volga school districts. The best job she had was caring for and loving her eight children.
Doreen was an avid Scrabble, Qquiddler, and crossword player. She loved reading, listening to music, and baking yummy treats. Doreen assisted Paul making quilts for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. She loved every moment that she could spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doreen was a good and faithful servant of the Lord as she attended mass, church functions, and prayed the rosary with Paul every morning. She was also a CCD teacher in Castlewood for several years.
Doreen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul; children Tom (Suzanne) Mullaney and his children Mandy, TJ, Danielle, Brook, Alex and Dustin (Jill) Mullaney; Damian (Erica Benson) Mullaney and his children Paul and Mathew Mullaney and Jackson Hicks; Shawn Mullaney; Brian (Carol Tupper) Mullaney and his children Brianna and Kyle Mullaney and Ryleigh Tupper; Mike (Carolyn) Mullaney and his children Chantel (John) Stavick, Anna (Mike Frease), Andrew, Angel and Clark Mullaney; Errin (Monte) Glines and their children Morgan (Rheider McCormick) and Heather (Brandon Henn) Glines; Bridget (Mitch) Hillesheim and their children Chanda (Colby) Porter and Lydia Helget; Meagen Lembcke and her children Jada, Faith, Luke and guide dog Ollie; great-grandchildren Isabella and Ariana Porter, and Marie Stavick; brother Clark (Betty) Drew, Walter (Sharon) Mullaney and family, Mel Mullaney and family, Kathleen Ramm and family, Pat Sloan and family and Tom (Rosie) Bickett and family.
