Dorothy Ann Clelland, 69, of Arlington died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at her home in Arlington.

Funeral services are at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation begins at 6 p.m.  A private family burial will be at a later date.

Dorothy Ann Clelland was born June 26, 1948, to Harold and Ardis (Larson) Clelland at Lake Preston.  She attended country grade school at the Quinn School and graduated from Arlington High School in 1966.  She then attended the Pierre School of Practical Nursing to become an LPN.  

Dorothy worked for one year in Pierre before moving to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as a cardiology nurse.  In 1982, Dorothy returned to Arlington and worked for the Kingsbury Memorial Hospital, Madison Community Hospital and then the Arlington Care and Rehabilitation Center until her retirement in 2013.

 Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she spent many hours volunteering her time and talents.  

She especially enjoyed attending activities for her three nephews and then later for their children. Her door was always open for friends and family, who could expect good conversation, a treat and lots of love.

She is survived by her sister, Linda (Terry) Shull of Shell Knob, Missouri; brother, Donald (Carol) Clelland of Arlington; three nephews several great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ardis and a a sister, Cynthia.
