Dowden, Schultz, Wang to hold senior exhibit

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University students Vanessa Dowden, Jessica Schultz and Huayinyin Wang will display their senior exhibit March 18-29 at Grove Hall’s Ritz Gallery on campus. The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Ritz Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The exhibit, titled “Ephemeral” includes oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, mixed media works, photographs, prints, ceramics, sculptures, leather work, a corporate branding package (logos, web design, newsletters, stationery sets, brand books and advertisements) in addition to works in animation and illustration.

Dowden is the daughter of Brad and Skyla Dowden of Freeman and a 2015 graduate of Freeman High School. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art.

A graphic design major, Schultz is also pursuing a minor in studio art. She is the daughter of Bryan and Janine Schultz of Madison and is a 2014 graduate of Madison High School.

Pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art, Wang is the daughter of Yan and Wenping Wang of Baoji, China.

A public reception will be held March 29 from 4-6 p.m.

The Ritz Gallery is located south of SDSU’s University Student Union between the Mathews and Brown residence halls. Parking is available in the University Student Union lot.
