BROOKINGS – A rally for abortion rights took place Monday on the corner of 22nd Avenue and Sixth Street in Brookings.
About 85 women, men and children stood with signs in reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
All were Brookings residents.
The event was peaceful, and vehicles passing by were encouraged to honk if they agreed with the rally goers.
The event was organized by Stand for Human Rights, a local group headed by Samantha Himley.
