Duane Anderson, 74, of Aurora, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at the Brookings hospital.  

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Elkton with burial to follow in the Elkton City Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service.  

Duane was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Elkton, to Harry and Elda (Bergman) Anderson.  He grew up and attended school in Elkton.  

Duane married Joyce Mersch on June 15, 1963. She died in 2009.  Duane married Diane Rehfeld on July 26, 2013, in Las Vegas.  The couple made their home in Aurora.  

Duane worked at Chicago-Rock Island, Knutson Pipe Covering, Sheesley Plumbing and Heating, and Twin City Fan.  He worked as a welder for Twin City Fan until his retirement. Duane enjoyed working on model and radio controlled airplanes and tinkering with items in his garage in the home that he built.  

Duane will be remembered for his love of hunting pheasants, deer, fox, and rabbits, and especially fishing for bullheads at Lake Campbell.  

Survivors include his wife, Diane of Aurora; children, Jody (Wade) Havrevold of Volga, Dina (Joel) Nielsen of Bruce, and Jason (Angie) Anderson of Brookings; step-children, Kelli Doyle (Kyle Foster) of Sioux Falls, Crystal (Tony) Leal of Sioux Falls, Jason Rehfeld of White, Diana (Ephraim) Stacy of Anderson Air Force Base, and Sterling Rehfeld (Cindy Clark) of Sioux Falls; brother, Jerry (Sandra) Anderson of Elkton; four grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Duane was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce; brothers, Harold, Donald, Marlen, and Earl; sister, Evelyn Dexter; and step-son, Ryan Rehfeld.
