WATERTOWN – Aberdeen Central’s Sydney Wirebaugh took medalist honors as the Golden Eagles placed four golfers in the top six en route to the Watertown Invitational team title on Monday.
Wirebaugh fired a 76 as Brookings’ Brooke Piearson carded an 83 for second place.
Harrisburg’s Megan Parson finished third with an 84 as the Tigers placed second in the team chase with a 363.
Cassidy Gough (84), Brooklyn Hofer (87) and Mikalay Santjer (87) placed fourth through sixth for the Eagles.
Pierre’s Hallie Gronlund shot an 88 to lead the Lady Governors (369) to a third-place team finish, followed by Mitchell (383), Watertown (395), Huron (496) and Brookings (413).
Other Bobcat scores included Nicole Steen’s 101; Shaylee Kuehl with a 110; and Ashton Austreim’s 119.
Brookings competes in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament on Tuesday, May 30, at the Brandon Golf Course. Tee off is at 9:30 a.m.
