BROOKINGS – The Brookings Public Library will host the Earth as Art exhibit from June 15-July 22 and feature Brent Yantis from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Regional Application Center as a guest speaker on the exhibit at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18.

The Regional Application Center is made up of geospatial scientists who work to gather and share satellite and remote sensing imagery that is used in emergency response, coastal restoration, the transportation industry, and precision agriculture.

The Earth as Art gallery exhibit features remarkable images of the surface of the Earth that have been captured by remote sensing devices aboard Landsat and other satellites operated by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The exhibit is presented by the University of Louisiana Lafayette Regional Application Center and the LouisianaView program and has displayed across the country.
