BROOKINGS – Come celebrate music legend Bob Dylan’s 76th birthday with local artist Tommy Edwin.

Edwin’s free performance will run from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Cottonwood Coffee on Main Avenue, Brookings.

Edwin, now retired, was formerly a South Dakota State University faculty member, teaching plant science classes. He’s a one-man band, playing guitar and harmonica along with vocals.

Taking up music full time, Edwin is known for playing ’60s and ’70s music, anywhere from oldies, folk, country and originals to contemporary rock and pop.

Edwin will perform about 50 Dylan songs.

Dylan, famous for his music in the ’60s and ’70s, recently won the Nobel Prize for Literature, the first musician to win the award. Edwin said he’s celebrating Dylan because he’s a huge figure in the music industry.
