Brookings Elks Lodge #1491 is sponsoring a free throw competition for youth ages 8-13 on Dec. 11 at 9 a.m. at Sioux Valley High School. Participants could earn the chance to compete at state and national levels.
The Elks are celebrating its 50th anniversary of sponsoring the free hoop shoot. This activity provides youth an opportunity to compete, connect, and succeed through healthy competition.
The 12-13 boys division will use a standard 29.5” basketball; all other divisions will use a 28.5” basketball. Additional rules will be explained at the event.
Age is based on the participant’s age on April 1, 2022.
Six lodge winners advance to the state competition with expenses paid for by the Elks.
