Elkton-Lake Benton won the championship pod in Arlington, while Deubrook Area finished 4-0 in the consolation pod in Deubrook as part of the Dakota Valley Conference volleyball tournament held Saturday.

Elkton-Lake Benton wins DVC tourney

Elkton-Lake Benton won the championship pod in Arlington, while Deubrook Area finished 4-0 in the consolation pod in Deubrook as part of the Dakota Valley Conference volleyball tournament held Saturday.

Hadley Carlson posted 21 kills for the Cardinals, but Elkton-Lake Benton put an end to Arlington’s 17-match winning streak.

Rachael Krog had ten kills for the Lady Elks, while Kailyn Drietz added eight.

Kylie Ramlo was a big defensive presence at the net for Elkton-Lake Benton, totaling eight blocks including three solos.

Carlson’s 19 kills along with Morgan Larsen’s nine led Arlington to a straight-set win.

Grace Parry posted 33 set assists in the match, while Carlson and Larsen logged 21 and 10 digs, respectively.

For Colman-Egan, Hailey Larson led the Hawks with eight kills and Daniela Lee added seven.

Mackenzie Hemmer had a pair of blocks for Colman-Egan along with 13 digs.

Lee posted a team-high 14 digs.

Krog and Drietz again led the Lady Elks with nine and six kills, respectively, as Elkton-Lake Benton picked up the win.

Krog also posted a game-high 14 digs, while Kayla Goertz added ten.

Larson and Lee each had five kills for the Hawks.

Drietz again led Elkton-Lake Benton in kills with eight as the Lady Elks picked up the win.

Madisyn Nielsen added six kills.

Ramlo, Drietz, and Tevan Erickson combined for eight service aces in the match.

The Bulldogs were led by Kennadi Buchholz with five kills, while Cori Birkel and Jada Burke each had three.

• Colman-Egan 2, De Smet 0

25-19, 25-16

Larson’s 12 kills pushed Colman-Egan to a straight-set win over De Smet.

Ava Mousel led the Hawks with 15 set assists and had a pair of service aces.

Hemmer and Lee both added four kills each.

Buchholz’s 11 kills were a team-high for De Smet, and she along with Birkel each had five blocks.

Carlson had 12 kills and 13 digs as the Cardinals defeated De Smet in two sets.

Natalie Burns posted a pair of blocks, while Parry provided 23 set assists and three aces.

Erin Haufschild had two aces for the Cardinals, as well.

Buchholz had 16 kills and 12 digs for the Bulldogs, while Olivia Johnson and Jacie McCune had three and two service aces, respectively.

The Cardinals defeated Castlewood in two sets.

Carlson had a game-high 14 kills and Larsen added seven.

The same duo of Carlson (15) and Larsen (10) led Arlington in digs, while Burns added two aces and a block.

Castlewood was led by Mackenzie Everson and Presley Knecht, each with six kills.

Hemmer’s double-double with 10 kills and 16 digs led the Hawks to a three-set win.

Larson added nine kills.

Ava Mousel and Lanie Mousel logged 15 and nine set assists, respectively.

Faith Taggart had three blocks for the Hawks.

Knecht and Everson again led the Warriors with 12 and six kills, respectively.

25-15, 25-17

Everson and Knecht each had six kills as the Hawks handed the Lady Elks their lone loss of the tournament.

Horn posted 19 set assists which were a game high.

Drietz and Nielsen each had four kills for Elkton-Lake Benton, while Krog and Ramlo added three each.

• Castlewood 2, De Smet 1

25-23, 18-25, 25-22

Knecht and Everson led the Warriors with 15 and 10 kills, respectively, as the Warriors outlasted the Bulldogs.

Kailyn Larson, Maddie Horn, and Everson each had two aces.

No stats were reported for De Smet.

Ella Griffin, Courtney Brown, and Maya Heinitz each added three kills.

25-16, 14-25, 25-18

Emma Vandermeer’s nine kills led Deubrook Area to a three-set win over Estelline/Hendricks.

Taylor Ekern and Vandermeer had 17 and 14 digs, respectively.

For the Redhawks, Kenzy Beare posted a game-high 14 kills, while Sadie Johnson (23), Brooke Johnson (22), and Heidi Nicola (21) all logged over 20 digs.

Nicola also had three service aces.

25-4, 25-17

Beare and Kate Wegner had five and four kills, respectively, as the Redhawks defeated the Divers.

Beare also added three service aces, and Sadie Johnson had 11 set assists.

For Lake Preston, Annika Nelson and Marissa Rober each had two kills, while Ava Malone led the Divers with 11 digs.

Beare’s nine kills helped Estelline/Hendricks to a three-set win over the Cardinals.

Nicola had six kills and also posted three service aces.

Sadie Johnson logged 32 digs, while Wegner (25) and Madelyn Ebbers (22) both eclipsed the 20-dig mark.

St. Mary was led by Courtney Brown with nine kills and Ella Griffin with seven.

Griffin also had a pair of service aces.

Wegner had eight kills and Beare had seven as the Redhawks swept the Raiders.

Wegner also added 24 digs, while Sadie Johnson had 17 to go along with 18 set assists and a service ace.

Julia Trygstad led Oldham-Ramona/Rutland with seven kills and Alivia Bickett had five kills and 12 digs.

Sine Matson led the Raiders with 31 digs.

Hayden Oftedal scored a pair of aces for ORR.

Vandermeer’s 15 kills and nine digs led the Dolphins to a straight-set win.

Vandermeer and Koppatschek had eight and six kills, respectively, as the Dolphins rolled to the straight-set win.

Lake Preston’s Faith Steffensen had a pair of kills, while Malone added seven digs.

Rober and Hadlee Holt each logged a service ace for the Divers.

Vandermeer led the Dolphins with eight kills as Deubrook Area swept ORR.

Koppatschek had a pair of aces and ten set assists, while Moravetz added five kills.

The Raiders Trygstad and Bickett had five and four kills, respectively.

Bickett also had ten kills, while Matson added nine.

Trygstad logged the Raiders’ lone service ace.

Trygstad’s six kills and Bailey Hyland’s four led the Raiders to a straight-set win over Lake Preston.

Brecklyn Leighton had a pair of aces for ORR, who also got 14 digs from Matson and 13 from Bickett.

Steffensen and Nelson had seven kills each for the Divers.

Courtney Brown had 13 kills and Maya Heinitz added eight as the Cardinals rallied for the three-set win.

Brown had three service aces while Heinitz, Ella Griffin, and Josie Baumberger had two each.

Bickett (8) and Trygstad (7) led the Raiders in kills, while Leighton added a pair of service aces.
