Ellen Bruett, 93, of Arlington and a former Sioux Falls resident died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Brookings hospital in Brookings.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial is in the Spring
Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before services at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington.
Ellen Stiegelmeier was born Dec. 14, 1924, at Java, to Jacob and Katie (Berg) Stiegelmeier. Ellen married Howard Bruett on Dec. 21, 1968 in Sioux Falls. Mr. Bruett died in April of 1997. She remained on the farm until moving to Dakota Sun Assisted Living in Volga and than to the Arlington Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by her son Russell (Barbara) Girard; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, DeLila Schneider and number of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son Gary. Ellen’s family expressed thanks to the staff at Dakota Sun Assisted Living and the Arlington Care and Rehabilitation Center.
