Evelyn May Lutter, 94, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Avera Flandreau Hospital. 

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Flandreau.  Burial is in Union Cemetery in Flandreau. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau

Evelyn was born Jan. 4, 1923, at Chelsea, to Clifford and Marigold (Perry) Miller. She graduated from Northville High School in Northville. Evelyn married Robert Lutter on Jan. 4, 1942, at Mellette. They lived in Northville and in 1962 they moved to Flandreau. Evelyn worked at the Flandreau Indian School as a cook for several years and taught home economics for one year. Bob died Nov. 3, 2012. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and she enjoyed gardening, sewing and babysitting grandkids.

Evelyn is survived by four children, Sharon Lutter of Appleton, Wisconsin, Robert (Gloria), Hartford, Stanley (Gail) of Josephine, Texas, and  Bill (Pam) of Ramona; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, LaVaun Hahn of Babbitt, Minnesota, Vivian Allbee of Eureka and Velma Weinreis of Parachute, Colorado. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and a brother.
