Brookings AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is open to help people prepare their 2019 tax returns from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until April 15, in the lower level of First Bank and Trust, 520 Sixth St. in downtown Brookings. No appointment is necessary. This free service is available to low- and moderate-income taxpayers of all ages with special attention to those age 60 and older. Brookings residents unable to come to the site may call LaVonne Tufty at 692-4766 to make arrangements for tax assistance. Individuals should have all of the documents they need to file before coming to the site, including Social Security cards, photo IDs, a copy of last year’s tax return, and tax records for 2019.
