Facilities report available online

BROOKINGS – The Brookings School District is releasing documents for its facility planning project that architecture firm TSP presented at the school board’s June work session.

It was not shared electronically at the time because it included maps and blueprints officials did not want publicly viewed due to safety and security concerns.

Now that those have been edited out of the document, Brookings School District Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Laura Gerjets advised that people wanting to read the document prior to the public presentation scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the Brookings High School commons can do so by using this link: https://www.brookings.k12.sd.us/cms/lib/SD01816867/Centricity/Domain/348/2017%2006%2015%20FINAL%20VOLUME%201%20CHAPTERS%201%202%203%204%20PDF.pdf.

It can also be found manually by going to the district website at www.brookings.k12.sd.us, clicking on the “Facility Planning” tab and then clicking “TSP Final Recommendations” at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the page.

Because the district doesn’t want school maps and blueprints online, printed copies of maps and blueprints will instead be available at the June 24 presentation.

Members of the community are encouraged to come to the July 24 public meeting, where the architects will present the comprehensive facility plan report and their recommendations.
