Family helped through difficult time

Letter to the editor

I would like to thank the many friends and family who attended my husband Jerry’s visitation on 11/24 and funeral on 11/25. Special thanks to Mitch and Emerald from the Eidsness Funeral Home, who gave such loving and professional care to Jerry and to our family. Another special thank you to the veterans who honored Jerry with his last military rites.

Cancer is hard on everyone in the family, but our burden was made much lighter by care given by the Brookings hospice team, and frequent visits by Father Terry Anderson of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Parish.

As Rep. John Mills said in his eulogy, Jerry was a builder, a craftsman and an artist, whose work on many large commercial projects and churches will live on as a symbol of his love for our community and the state that was so important to him all of his life.

A memorial donation of $840 was made to the Brookings Animal Humane Society in Jerry’s honor.
