Fence energizer stolen near Bruce

BRUCE – A fence energizer and battery were stolen near Bruce, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The theft was reported at 5:20 p.m. Sunday and occurred at 462nd Avenue and 202nd Street northwest of Bruce, according to Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring.

“A rural Bruce resident reported the theft of a black and orange Gallagher B200 Portable Solar fence energizer and an Interstate Deep cycle battery. The fence energizer and battery are valued at $700,” Sebring said.

“The fence energizer was approximately 20 yards off the road in the fence line,” Sebring said. “The fence energizer was last seen the previous week, but based off of investigation at the scene, it appeared to have been recently stolen.”
