FLANDREAU – Melina Matthys had 18 kills as Flandreau defeated Sioux Valley 18-25, 25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 15-13 in a Big East Conference/Lake Central Conference volleyball match Tuesday night.
Rylee Iott added six kills.
Jaycie Pulscher (18) and Shalyn Peters (14) combined for 32 set assists.
Mariana Pavlis recorded three blocks and Madison Kontz added one. Anna Gassman netted a pair of service aces and Peters added one.
Gassman notched five digs and Hannah Parsley four.
For the Cossacks, Rylan Willis totaled 13 kills, two aces and 16 digs. Miakken Vincent contributed 10 kills, three blocks and 16 digs.
Bekah Bahn came up with 27 digs and Haydyn Hauge tallied 12 set assists.
Alicia VanderWal totaled three blocks and two aces. Reagan Johnson had a pair of blocks and Bahn added two aces.
Sioux Valley (6-17, 0-3 BEC/0-5 LCC) plays host to Beresford on Saturday at 2 p.m. Flandreau (12-10, 2-2 BEC/2-1 LCC) is host to the Watchdogs on Tuesday.
