CLARK – Flandreau went 1-2 and Sioux Valley was 0-3 at the Clark/Willow Lake wrestling quadrangular on Tuesday.
The Fliers’ Hunter Witte pinned Brayden Squires in 1:15 at 120 pounds and Tanner Christenson stuck Tyson Moe in 44 seconds at 126. Chase Reed added a win by fall in 4:54 over RJ Perry in the 220-pound bout.
The Cossacks’ David Knutson opened the dual with a pin of Brayden Wiese in 1:14 at 106 pounds. At 145, Seth Heindenreich defeated Kolby Peters 9-5.
The Cyclones won two of the three contested matches.
Christenson pinned Ethan Mcelhone in 1:31 in the 126-pound bout.
The Fighting Cougars prevailed in five of the seven contested bouts and won seven matches via forfeit.
Witte pinned Joe Loudenburg in just 40 seconds at 120 and Christenson earned a 6-5 decision over Reid Montreal at 126.
Sam Verpaalen picked up the lone win for the Cossacks – a forfeit at 113.
The Cyclones won all five contested matches.
The Fighting Cougars took three of the five contested matches.
For the Cossacks, Squires put Loudenburg on his back in 5:20 at 120 pounds. Perry pinned Cole Grasma in 4:56 in the 220-pound match.
