FLANDREAU – Flandreau defeated Sioux Valley 58-41 in a Region 2A Girls’ Basketball Tournament semifinal on Thursday night to advance to the Round of 16.
Kathy Parsley and Hannah Parsley just missed double-doubles.
Kathy had 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and Hannah added 17 as both players grabbed nine rebounds.
The Fliers led 20-11 after a quarter, 31-25 at halftime and 39-29 through three.
Mara Lunday added six points, five boards and a pair of assists.
The Cossacks got 11 points from Cassie Rawden and 10 by Carly Granum.
Sioux Valley finished the season with a 14-8 record.
Flandreau improved to 15-6.
The Class A Round of 16 is Thursday. Pairings and game sites will be determined this weekend.
The other Region 2A semifinal between Hamlin (18-2) and Madison (11-10) was postponed to Saturday at 3 p.m. in Hayti.
