Fliers top Warriors in LCC game

CASTLEWOOD – Flandreau overcame a slow start to beat Castlewood 43-38 in a Lake Central Conference girls’ basketball matchup Monday night.

The Warriors were up 10-4 after 8 minutes. The Fliers grabbed a 17-16 halftime lead and held a 26-23 advantage heading to the fourth.

Hannah Parsley posted a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds while adding three steals, two blocks and an assist. She was 10-of-11 at the free-throw line.

Claire Sheppard added eight points, Bella Pavlis six and Maria Parsley five. Sheppard corralled six boards. Parsley came up with five steals and four rebounds. Pavlis added three steals.

Flandreau improved to 5-1 (2-0), while Castlewood dropped to 3-2 (0-1).
