Forsyth honored with Americanism Flag Award

BROOKINGS – The Daughters of the American Revolution Medary Chapter presented the Americanism Flag Award for the month of May to Dr. Harry Forsyth.

Forsyth graduated from South Dakota State College in 1951 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S Army where he became a pilot. He served four years of active duty including 18 months in the Korean conflict, and he served 33 years in the South Dakota Army National Guard.

Harry had an ancestor, John Forsyth, who fought in the American Revolution along with the ancestors of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
