Gannon wins all-around at home meet with 36.85

BROOKINGS – Bobcat junior Rachel Gannon won the all-around crown in the Patty Jorgenson Invitational on Saturday at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.

She posted a score of 36.85.

Watertown’s Brooke Bollinger and Mitchell’s Emily Moody tied for second at 36.15.

Gannon placed first in the floor exercise with a 9.8.

She was runner-up on the beam (9.4), tied for eighth on the bars (8.55) and ninth on the vault (9.1).

Gannon has placed in the top 10 in the all-around at state each of the past three seasons. She won the floor title in 2018.

Mitchell won Saturday’s invite with a 147.4 and Watertown was second at 143.2.

Brookings posted a 141 and was third. Harrisburg (140.65) ended up fourth.

Mitchell’s Kyra Gropper prevailed on the beam (9.45) and teammate Bentley Bates was tops on the bars (9.3), while Yankton’s Allison Johnson won the vault (9.35).
