Garage door damaged in hit-and-run

VOLGA – A garage door was damaged in a hit-and-run, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The damage was reported at 9:44 a.m. Saturday and occurred in the 300 block of Marvin Avenue in Volga, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said. The accident is believed to have happened between 2 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday, he said.

“It was found the unknown vehicle had pulled into the driveway of the residence, caused significant damage to the garage door and departed the scene. The cost to repair the garage door is just under $3,000,” Sebring said.

This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
