Feb. 7, 1941 - June 6, 2023

Gary Dean Schoepf was born Feb.7, 1941, at Al bert Lea, MN. son of Harold and Anica (Fox) Schoepf. He passed with family by his side on June 6, 2023, in Norfolk, NE, at the age of 82.
Gary spent his early years in Briceland, MN., Mitchell, Kimball and Brookings, SD, graduating from Brookings High School in 1959. During those high school years he met and then married his high school sweetheart, Rachel Borstad on Sept. 22, 1959.
Gary began his career learning the printing trade from his parents at Harolds Printing in Brookings, SD. Gary and Rachel moved their family to Huron, SD, in 1965 to manage and open Brown Printing then renamed as Creative Printing. After Huron they moved to Colorado Springs then Windsor, CO, then O’Neil, Beemer and finally Norfolk, NE.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Sherri (Jeff) Baseley, Susan (Rodney) Oberle, Sandra (John) Thurlow, Sara Schoepf, Special Friend Linda Carnes, Six Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Nicki Brooks, Merri (Hank) Nelson.; Sister in Laws, Debbie (Keven) Perry, Donna (Kelly) Devoss, brother in laws Gene Boortz, Sid Bostic, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Rachel, his parents Harold and Anica, Rachel’s parents Barbara and Bennie, brothers in law: Robert Brooks, Robert Nemitz, Sister in laws: Bonnie Bostic and Karen Boortz.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings,  located 1372 W. Eighth St. S.. at 2 p.m. on Sept. 23. Anyone who knew Gary is welcome to attend to share memories. Family members will be in attendance for the ceremony as we place Garys ashes. A short reception will follow at 3 p.m at the Wooden Legs Brewery 309 Fifh St.
