BROOKINGS – Another successful Gas Out Cancer event was held from Aug. 24-Sept. 7. The Brookings Home Team powered by Century 21 Krogman & Co. and Schoon’s Pump N’ Pak teamed up for the ninth annual Gas Out Cancer, a fundraiser to raise funds and help fight cancer.
During this two-week period, Pump N Pak would donate 1 cent for every gallon of gas purchased and the Brookings Home Team would match that up to $1,000. People could register for prizes including one of two $50 Visa Gift cards and a Cinema 8 movie basket.
Pictured, Shane Andersen, team lead of the Brookings Home Team, receives a check from Pump N’ Pak Manager Michelle Carlson for $1,000. So with that and the matching of funds, the Brookings Home Team is able to present a $2,000 donation to the American Cancer Society.
Since they have started doing this, they have been able to donate more than $44,000.
