George Orville Burns was born on June 6, 1948, in Madison, to Orville & Clara (Dragseth) Burns. He lived the majority of his years in Nunda.
George retired after 37 years working for South Dakota State University in the Food Service Department. He was an avid Rutland Ramblers, Yankees, Packers and Ohio State Buckeye fan; he loved “The Sound of Music.” He enjoyed spirited games of Solitaire, Rook & Kings Corner’s.
He lived for his trips to Columbus and time spent with his family. We remember walks to McDonald’s, bowling, watching fireworks, and playing catch outside! Recent years have not been this easy, but he always thanked God for the days he had. He was our family’s prayer warrior and he LOVED JESUS! While we will miss him on Earth, we know he is having the BEST birthday ever!
Surviving are his sister, Barbara (Roger) Masten of Dublin, OH; niece, Amanda (Michael) Racanelli of Hilliard, OH and nephew, Andrew (Linna) Masten of Howell, MI and five grand-nieces & nephews, Gabriella, Leonardo, Jackson, Chiarina and Korbin.
He was preceded in death by his parents in 1983 and all of his uncles and aunts both Dragseth and Burns.
