BROOKINGS – Share the Warmth organizers were busy at Faith Reformed Church earlier this week setting up for Thursday’s winter outerwear giveaway for those in need.
Anyone in need is welcome to the Share the Warmth event, held from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Faith Reformed Church, 1330 Main Ave. S., Brookings. Come pick up a coat, snow pants, boots, hat and gloves.
Recipients are asked to come on a schedule based on the first letter of their last name: M-P, 9-11 a.m.; Q-S, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; T-Z, 1-3 p.m.; A-D, 3-5 p.m.; E-H, 5-7 p.m.; I-L, 7-8 p.m.
Brookings Area Transit Authority is also offering free rides to and from the Share the Warmth event, but reservations must be made in advance. To make a reservation, call 692-2222.
