BROOKINGS – Former South Dakota State University equestrian standout Marielle Golden will return to her alma mater as the program’s hunter seat coach.

Since graduating from SDSU in 2016, Golden has worked as a trainer and manager at two different equestrian centers in her native Florida, overseeing lesson programs and managing the day-to-day operations of an equine boarding and training center.

As a Jackrabbit student-athlete from 2012-13 through the 2015-16 season, Golden set three SDSU single-season and career records.

In earning honorable mention All-America recognition during the 2014-15 campaign, she set single-season marks with nine wins in equitation on the flat and eight wins in equitation over fences.

In addition, Golden set the Jackrabbit career record with 21 wins in equitation on the flat and ranks second in program history with 18 victories in equitation over fences. She also claimed nine Most Outstanding Performer honors between the two disciplines during her career.

Golden will begin her duties immediately. She will share coaching duties with Morgan DiGiulio, who returns for her second second mentoring the Jackrabbits’ Western riders.
