SINAI – Several fire departments responded to a grass fire near Sinai Thursday, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The large grass fire was reported at 1:38 p.m. Thursday and occurred near 458th Avenue and 219th Street, south of Sinai, Sgt. Manny Langstraat said.
“The fire was believed to have been started by the road and went into a grass field,” Langstraat said.
Also responding were the Sinai Fire Department, Volga Fire Department, Brookings Fire Department, and South Dakota Highway Patrol.
“The above listed fire departments extinguished the flames, and the landowner reported no monetary loss,” Langstraat said.
