ELMHURST, Ill. – Sophomore Madison Guebert was named Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday for the first time after helping South Dakota State to a 2-0 week.
The 5-foot-8 guard averaged 25 points, three rebounds, 4.5 assists and one steal per game with a 2.3 assist to turnover ratio. Guebert also shot 69.6 percent from the field, 61.5 percent from 3-point range and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line.
In a 72-63 win at Denver on Jan. 18, Guebert scored the sixth-most points in a game at SDSU with a career-high 32 points. She was 11-of-12 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, and 6-of-7 from the foul line. She added a career-best five assists.
Guebert tallied a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and four assists in a 73-58 victory over Western Illinois on Jan. 21.
Guebert leads the Jackrabbits in scoring (15.2 points per game), 3-pointers (62), 3-point percentage (44.6 percent) and steals (21).
The Jackrabbits play at Omaha on Saturday at 2 p.m.
